The demonstrations are over, our voices are gone from singing at the jam session or socializing during the pavilion sessions or dinners, and our bags are stuffed with USB sticks and information on the 68 vendors who launched at DEMO 2007. As we get ready to return to civilization, don’t forget to check out the following sites over the weekend, or come back any time to catch up on DEMO happenings.
Day 2 videos are up — if you missed one of the demonstrators, wanted to watch the demo again or are hanging out in the blogosphere and want a recap, make sure you watch those. Shameless plug — you should also catch my Cool Tools videos from the show, getting some in-depth details from 10 of the coolest demos at the show.
Please remember to add your own comments to the individual demonstrator profiles — I guarantee that someone from the company is reading these, so if you have a particular question for them this is a great way to contact them!
Finally, you may wonder what the picture is doing there — after all the demonstrations and activity here at the show, we decided that this was the best “software” at the show.

While the show may be officially “over,” there’s still a lot of commenting to go on as we all digest the demos and products that we saw over the past two days. Here’s a bunch of companies and demos that impressed me on Day 2:
Boston-Power launched its SONATA battery, which can not only match the lifespan of a notebook (solves battery fade problems), but also delivers a 50% increase in recharge time for laptop users. If you run your notebook on batteries a lot (I tend to bring my power adapter with me as much as possible), having a faster recharge time and a non-fading battery is quite impressive. It also looks like the company can use this technology to go beyond notebooks and use this for other mobile devices that take batteries (well, pretty much anything).

All of the demonstrator videos from the first day’s session are now online at the DEMO.com Web site, you can also access the videos from this location, which lists the demonstrators in the order they appeared on stage. If you missed any of the presentations, want to watch them again or are not at the show, here’s your chance to see what everyone is buzzing about. Just do me one favor, don’t watch the videos in the audience while other demonstrators or on stage (or just mute your volume!).
Congrats to the DEMO video production team, which turned around the videos in an amazing amount of time.

The first afternoon (and second afternoon) sessions are probably the toughest for demonstrators, as you have a bunch of attendees coming back from lunch and the afternoon sleepies begin to kick in.
Still, there were several demonstrations from companies that gave impressive demos and have interesting product pitches, including:

The first 15 companies demonstrated this morning, all focusing on innovation in different areas, from university research searches (Kauffman Innovation Network) to mobile augmented reality (Total Immersion).
1) The ZINK demonstration was probably the most visual, as they were able to show off their ink-less printing system within the six minutes, and also show how the prints created on their mobile device was water-resistant by dipping it in a bowl of water (just try that with an inkjet print). The company name is perfect too – add a Z for Zero to INK and you get ZINK. New applications include embedded printers in digital cameras and mobile phones, coming later this year. This reminds me of instant photos (think Polaroid), but entering the digital camera age. This is a company to watch.

Welcome to “sunny” Palm Desert, where the attendees are gathering for the start of the DEMO 2007 show, demonstrators are practicing their pitches and everyone is getting excited to see what the “next big thing” will be.
The DEMOblog is the “official” blog of the show, keep coming back here to see some of my comments, or if you feel like posting comments on the demonstrations you see, feel free to post away! The easiest way to find a company to comment on is by typing in the company name in the handy-dandy search bar in the upper right corner of the screen.

Yodio is a new online destination community for creating and sharing audio casts. Unlike most podcast Websites, Yodio features a proprietary audio-publishing service that makes it fast, easy and fun to produce short, high-impact audio casts. Yodio also features a rich marketplace where recordings — called “yodios” — can be rated, streamed or downloaded to most portable devices. And, the marketplace includes one of the first micro-payment systems that rewards audio creators with royalties and supports audio advertising.
